~eek! Who lives in north Texas?~

Sept. 12, 2007 — A variety of spider species built on one another's work to create a sprawling web that blanketed hundreds of yards of trees and shrubs at a north Texas park, according to entomologists who studied the unusual formation.
Heavy rains early this summer created prime feeding conditions for the spiders, which worked collectively to spin a web that nearly covered a pond ripe with mosquitoes and other insects.

"Normally they are cannibalistic and their webs are separated," said Allen Dean, a Texas A&M University entomologist. "They live in harmony because there's so much food available."
The web covered 200 yards along a trail at Lake Tawakoni State Park, about 45 miles east of Dallas. The August discovery of the massive web spurred debate among entomologists about its origin and rarity."

Cool! The boys are gonna love this... thanks!
Cool pic!
It's like the spiders from the movie Big Fish...
BTW, TG. Did you see the vid on my site about the CROX? About why they're so popular? If not, check it out, it all makes sense to me now.

Jake,
lol! - "the boys"!
Mr. Dino,
As always, nice to see you!
I will run over this minute to check out your vid! Thanks!
Wow, now I know why I live in Canada !!! Something the minus 20 weather is good for. Ugggh Hate spiders. Can't skin them for pelts or anything!!!
Minus 20???
brrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
lol! - "pelts"!
I'd like to see you wearing a pelt! hehe Or even better, lying on a pelt! ;)
Goddess, you have such a way with words!
GD -- what's so funny about "the boys?"
I've got three of 'em you know, although not sure the 22 month old will have much interest.
Pretty sure the 10 and 9 year olds will....
Watermelon,
Pray tell what you are referring to? I am sure it is better than your "yawn" comment of earlier! What was up with that? You are sush an intelligent trader and I thought you had a good heart. I usually do not misjudge people. Tell me I have not done so with you.
Jakey,
lol! (especially the "GD"! hehe)
I have known men to refer to something else when saying "the boys". hehe
Glad I have provided something your kids would be interested in. I tend to have an eclectic mind when I am out "surfing" and run across a ton of interesting things. I will be sure to post more of the things I think are interesting.
btw, kudo's to you for being a dad. My daughter's is not a dad and I have lost all respect for him for that.
Whenever someone suggests they have 3 "boys" I tell them they should have a doctor check that out.
As you know, I live in Dallas. I won't be visiting that park any time soon! But, of all the places I have lived, Dallas has the fewest insects crossing my path in my day-to-day existence. New Orleans was the worst place I've lived, insect-wise.
Richard,
I think you should go to that park! Seriously! How cool is that? It is not that far from you. Take a drive over and stand in front of it and have your picture taken!!! I want to do that even! lol! (wow! how many exclamation points did I kust use?)
I saw some pretty big insects in Florida.
But, I am sure the U.S. has nothing on some of the other countries!
